Very good point.

1, I am Scottish and as tight as they come

2, why should I pay over ?600 for something I can buy for less then ?250. The intercooler i bought won a intercooler shoot out over 7 other intercoolers so I know it is very good and affordable.

The whole conversion cost me ?300 yes it is causing me greif but diy power usually does.

Paying the extra would be easy no point in that

Very much agree, that is why I mentioned BeCool - for the application I noted there was a fan that could be added to my IC kit, but it was $400 - the BeCool one passed more CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) and was $80. Good to hear you sorted it though - Nice DIY

Not sure.

I used to own an E39 M5 and with all my cars ( had a few ) I have a wee test track I use to compare how fast they are. My remapped 535d used to be around 4 mph slower than my M5 now it is the very same.

I start @ 50mph, floor it up a long hill until i hit a bit on the road then check my speed. Not very scientific I know but it gives a pretty good idea if my car is getting quicker or not. I always do it 3 times and take the average.

There is no way I have 400bhp but I think the extra torque has made all the difference. If deffo feels faster and the torque is awesome.

Bearing in mind my boost is over 2 bar the exit temp of the turbos will be around 200 deg C a massive intercooler can only help.

Standard cooler 530 x 130 x 100 mm

New Intercooler 560 x 440 x 70mm huge difference.

Driving the car it just wants to rev and rev. I am very happy with the out come for ?300.

Once I get the full exhaust and final remap I will rolling road it to see what I have.

Geez, that friggin thing is HUGE!!! Great job on the mod - WOW!!! That thing has GOT to be good for 20-30HP by itself after the remap you're looking at 40-50HP easily.

Yeah I think you are on the money. It feels like a new remap so 20 to 30bhp cant be for off.

When I added a turbo (Garrett T34) to my Honda Accord it was nice, but when I added the intercooler with the cooling fan? 360WHP - lovely!! Including remap and upgraded internals, of course
