My Ride: MY2005 E60 545iA (Delivered 10th September 2005), Silver Grey, Black Dakota, Maple wood Sycamore Anthracite.
Mods done: M-Kit, ACS racing type IV 9.0JX20" and 10.0JX20" on Michelin PS2 front 255/30/20 and rear 295/25/20.
Mods to come: ACS suspension set, ACS trunk spoiler, ACS roof spoiler, ACS alu foot pedals, ACS exhaust, M5 trunk finisher, M5 Mirror or ACS Mirror.
Hey all,
Could you guys help me choose which mirrors to get.
I am torn between the AC Schnitzer mirrors and the M5 mirrors. Both features the LED puddle lamps, but the M5 mirrors boast anti-dazzle function and electronic folding. But then again, a pair of ACS cost much less at HK$6000 (parts+paint+install) which is about US$770, and a pair of M5 mirrors cost $14680 (parts+paint+install) which is US$1890!! A big difference. I know the ACS mirrors will be much smaller making is not as practical but the price is quite attractive. Help....

My Ride: 2006 JET BLACK on BLACK SPORTS PACK 5ER, with RADENERGIE R-10's @ 20"
Just my opinion, but I would ge the ACS. It just looks racier to me.
You will be RIGHT with either choice.

ACS is only appealing b/c of the price. They're cool mirrors but the M5 mirrors are absolutely BAD @SS looking. Saw them on my bro's M5 and they make our elephant ears look stupid.
Ask yourself this question...If they were the same price which would you get? M5 i think...so if you're ok w/ throwing down $1500 for some mirrors, then that's the way to go. Otherwise, get the ACS mirrors...or put that $700 towards something else.

Thanks for all your comments... I have decided to get the M5 mirrors because I really need the folding function as the parking spaces here in Hong Kong is really tight. Once I make a deposit, the dealer will order it for me next week. I'll post pics once i have them installed. Cheers!

I don't like the AC mirrors because of their logo stuck to the side of it. Unless you are a racer and sponsored by them, it detracts from the look your car. May as well have STP, Valvoline, and Dominos stickers too if thats the look your going for.
Now if you can get AC mirrors without the logo, that would be comparable to the M5s in my book and the definate choice...otherwise go M5 for sure!

My Ride: Alpine white 2004 545, cold weather package, premium sound, sport package.
Just wondering if the folding option would work on the non M5's. I know the Euro models have folding mirrors on non M5's. Any one know if it would work on a regular U.S. model?
