M5 style mirrors
Hi guys. Anybody know whether M5 style mirrors (not original) can be fitted on 2008 523i? I think mine is LCI model. The seller on ebay said cannot since the wiring is different. Thanks

to the forum! ... wah gimana di Jakarta ... kabar-nya lagi heboh badai hujan yah ...Anyway ... check what year is the donor car w/ the eBay seller ... likely car after Sept. '05 uses only single plug w/ 3 wires while before that if I'm not wrong has 3 (maybe more?) plugs w/ many wires.
But if I'm not mistaken non-OEM mirror basically just the housing and re-use the internal guts from your OEM mirror.

. Nice car u got there. The one sold on ebay has motor in it and it's factory new (non-oem). I saw in the forum people took the original motor and use the non-oem housing but I'm afraid to do that way. Its expensive if something bad happen to the original mirror.

Tkx & nice to see you here! I was there last (well almost every) summer and saw a lot of newer 5 (F10) but not much of E60 let alone the modified one.
Just ask the eBay seller from what year the mirror came from ... we the late model year only use 1 plug w/ 3 wires so if the seller said won't fit it's likely came from older model car.
