My 550i currently has the heated steering wheel option but I'm thinking about switching to an M5 steering wheel with SMG paddle shifters. I also want to the paddle shifters to work so I plan on buying a kit from my530i. If I purchase an M5 steering wheel without heater and install it in my car will it generate an error code? Thanks in advance.

I have the heated steering installed but not coded yet. And no errors.
I think there isn't an error for heating.
