Guys,

Can the stock m5 intake be used on a 2004 545i? Two air boxes w/ k&n's would flow much better than the single stock setup. I was unable to search for this due to "m5" being only two characters long give you an error measage. Is there room in the engine bay for a right side intake box?

NEVER MIND!

I should have looked under the hood prior to asking that question. No room for two boxes regardles whether the plumbing could be made to mate up to the V8 or not.

Now, a more intriguing question is an E39 M5 intake on a 545i

you can also try installing the dinan intake system, it comes with a bigger airbox and a secondary intake

Intakes are worth a few if any HP at the upper rev range. Not worth the time let alone the money to buy or retrofit one.
