Talking

The aluminum knob retails for close to US$ 80.00 But it's a heck of a nice mod, easy to do and makes your car stand out when you're in it.. It feels very nice and the tactile feedback is essentially the same.

A good mod.....and worth the money in my opinion...

does this knob look as good in all the color combos and trim combos..? I did this mod awhile ago however i felt it did not go well with the center console and shifter i had at the time. Now since i have changed to the M5 shifter I think i would fit a lot better. Any pictures of various interiors with this mod would help other see?

I think it works with most interiors.....really it would work better when the shifter has a similar silver color in it [as opposed to wood], but I know that they include it as an option on all interiors on the m so i would assume it works well nonetheles......

Actulay I was thinking of replacing my silver shifter for the wooden one. My E39 interior had the wood shift knob, I think looked "richer" inside. The silver idrive knob still accents the siver door pulls.

To each his own...

Yeah, you're right..it's personal preference. I think the metal knob looks better with metal colored trim....just my opinion. But more power to you man!
