Ok guys I just got my really cool aluminum BMW M5 idrive knob from Garry at BMW of Newport (thanks Garry for the great price and service)...

Now, how do I get the old one off? Just pull? Pry a little with a screw driver? I don't want to scratch up my trim or god forbid break anything.

Anyone know the correct way to do this?

Thanks

Pull the old knob by hand. Install the M5 knob by pushing it down.

Thanks guys, the machined aluminum looks much better than the silver painted plastic.
