What about from performance point of view? I mean if someone with E55, or any other performance car would like to play with this M5 look?I know much people would not tell the difference say (break rotors).

My car is debadged (I love the look), but I'm not trying to hide what I am. When people ask what model I tell them or they end up seeing my taillights on the highway after some spirited driving. Do you see the difference? The owner of the poser M5 is straight out telling people his car is an M5. I tell people the truth. So, how does debadging make me a liar and loser. Please do enlighten me.
You guys are so obsessed with an M5 that nobody may use the M5 badge besides M5 owners. Wtf, its just a car man, dont exagerate.
I wouldnt do it either, but u have no right calling someone a loser and a liar for the way he pimps his car. Wake up man.

How you know that this guy is telling everyone he has an M5? What are u talking about? Your assumption is based on nothing. He probably loves an M5, want his car to look like it, but just doesnt have the money for the real thing. Who cares man.

So, to you he's not telling people he has a M5? I have no obsession with the M5. My take is you call a spade a spade. If it's a 525 then it's a 525. If it's a 545 it's a 545. If it's a M5 then it's a M5. If you read my posts, I never called the guy a loser or liar. He's a poser. Definition: "one who pretends to be someone whose not." Do you not see the problem with re-badging? If not, then you never will.

I have to agree with jiio on this. Rebadging the car with another model (especially upper model) is a fake and not worthy of respect imo just because it's a fake and poser. I don't respect that kind of stuff. Now if it was done out of pure fun to rebadge the car with a lower model then i can, in a way, understand that because the guy wanted to have some fun smashing some cars that took the bait. A fake? yes! A poser? Yes but not to show off. Just that wants more fun and to attract more fish, not to look THE BEST. Anyway i'm against any kind of rebadging with fake badges. Now debadging is nothing wrong. If people ask what engine is ay to them, no problems but i did it because of two reasons maybe three: 1. Because it looks way better without it. 2. I never understood why does one car need a badge on it's back? Like a shirt needing a badge. Why? For other people to see. I have no interest for other people to see that. 3 To avoid if possible the stealing of the numbers which i saw it happenes from time to time here.

So tell me smart guy with your nice theory.
What do u call it when you have a debadged car?
Mmm, let me guess. Debadging is an attempt to deceive. Right. So people who attempt to deceive are liars. And liars are losers.
Dont try and act smart if your not. Thats an attempt to deceive. And u know what that leads to.

Georgos,
Debadging has nothing to do with this. Debadging is an aesthetic choice, and holds no intent to deceive.
What I am saying, and saying strongly, and with the support and agreement of apparently most here, is that it's decptive to put a mis-label on something. If you own a Timex and tell people it's a Rolex, you're lying. By going so far as to put an M5 badge on a 525 he is telling the world that it's an M5, and it is not, so it is a lie. I personally have no respect for liars, and I think liars are losers only pretending to be something they are not. It's lame.
What's sad is that he couldn't just leave it alone with some decent mods, and skip the M5 badge.

U may critizise his choice but i dont think it is justified to call someone a loser and a liar. Those are serious accusations against someone who just wants his car to look like an M5.
