Default vanos solenoids

just a question if the battery on a 525 e60 was low wud it affect the vanos solenoids to play up

If the battery is strong enough to crank the car and the charging system is good, don't believe the Vanos solenoids would be effected. The Vanos system is controlled by the ECU, which is not affected if the Power module starts cutting power to non essential modules to conserve battery/power.

^ Agreed. If you're worried about the battery, have it and the alternator tested for free at just about any auto parts store. Else, if you're throwing codes for the Vanos solenoid(s), just replace the offending part(s). They're on the front of the block, easy to change.
