yes, but you will need to buy a new airbag made for that wheel which is going to cost an arm and a leg.

What do you mean by "standard sports"? I thought there was only the standard wheel with the triangleish airbag or the sports wheel with round airbag. Anyway if you have the round airbag already it will fit also the M wheel. I transfered the airbag on my 04 sports wheel to a 05 M5 dito and no problems.
Just make sure the new wheel you get is pre Sept 2005 (plastic tab on the back of the wheel. Newer one is cast metal), otherwise it won't bolt right on.
