You need that option already installed in your car to get the correct wiring and the switch, and you need to buy the correct type of M5 mirrors for that ( there are 2 types of M5 mirrors , one with fold, onw without)

I was talking about my stock ones not M5 not yet

Hey!!

It aren't the M5 mirrors or M5 replica's; the mirrors I have are the ones from the BMW accesoire catalogue, they call the M Sport Package mirrors!! Yes, I mean that they fold up when I press a button (after I've parked my car for example). I didn't have that option on my car before, so it's normal that my M mirrors don't fold??

Thanks,

Postel

I believe E60Speed is right...I will have the same problem. This is the 1 option I forgot to take...still don't understand how I missed that one.
You will need to get extra wiring installed and a button.
Still need to check the cost for that.

Anyway, show us some pics pls.

Hey Joel, shall we go 2gether to Heinz this Sept for a nice remap???

I am 'down under' right now for 2 weeks. Will be in Kopenhagen from Sept 5-9.
I am hoping to go to Heinz the 2nd week of September, but I am a difficult person to make arrangements with more than 2-3 weeks in advance.
When I get back around Aug 28th, I will have a better view on my agenda.

I will try to go for the week of Sept 12th then. That's what I currently have in mind. Would that suit you? Any specific day?

Optional extra in the UK. Fold in and auto dim features. However I have been told that in reverse that the passenger mirror doesnt dip to show the kurb as I thought it would...

The downward rotation of the mirror when you are in 'Reverse' gear is a very good feature to have. Especially so when you've got those expensive aftermarket wheels and find yourself having to parallel park a lot.

Too bad that you can't have both the fold-up and rotate down.

You can actually have both. It all depends on the options you added to your car. I have the M-sport package with both functions working fine.

I was just woundering if the M5-mirrors were bought through the BMW-dealer or are they bought elsewhere, if so where?

Do a search for: Roveractive

I believe they are also selling them on ebay.
If I remember correctly, they want approximately $1,500 USD for the pair of mirrors painted to your body color.

I would imagine that after the M5 hits the streets, these mirrors would be readily available at the dealers. However, they may want an M5 VIN in order for them to sell it to you.
