wow, that is cheap alright. I got my set up from r1 concept for a little more than that. Just use caution because not all rotors are created equal. The pads on the other hand are pretty reputable.

Whatever way you go on your brakes, be aware that when you go from standard discs (rotors) to slotted or drilled, you will get much more noise when you're braking.

I went for EBC discs and pads - with slotted discs, advertised as quieter then drilled. This they may be, but they can generate some noise, particularly under "normal" braking. After all, when you are playing at "last of the late braker's", then you're more bothered about stopping than any noise (and your passenger's screaming will drown out any extra noise in this situation ).

Actually, EBC's products are kind of notorious for the noise lately...

I think the safest mod on brakes will be changing from 530 braking system to 550 or M5 braking system. Please note bigger rotor and a fortified brake module will result in heavier unsprung weight, i.e. worsen overall handling.

So how is it a "safest" mod? You mean in the sense that it is the best fitment or something?

Honestly, I'm not too sure about your assessment. I'm doing a lot of research right now and it looks like the best mod is to get the Centric rotots and Hawk pads. Although the stoptech pads are looking really good too. either way, you are reducing the unsprung weight and gaining braking performance, albeit at the cost of worse wear and tear on the pads and rotors. Also, you can't turn drilled and slotted rotors, so that may be a bummer to some. But overall - especially at the pricepoint I'm being quoted (Anthony@BimmerBrakes FTW btw ) - it is hard to argue with this setup.

Why?
I have the red stuff and very happy with the performance and dusts that it gives,
Some squeaking noise you will be expected in the initiate bed in period though
