Does the dvd play on the screen!!!???!!! 
Is this what I think it is? 
Car has Cold weather package...premium sound...xenon
I hope it works out...last one did not. This dealer is 10 mins from me in Rockland County

BTW for those of you who dont see it is it below the CD insert. Kinda small but it says DVD.

Nope. All BMW's that come with Navigation have that slot and that icon. The DVD slot is purely for the Navigation DVD. It's deceiving, I know.
However, you can play DVD's through the iDrive screen. You'll need the ACM Module ($650) and a source (DVD Player or Video iPod). The ACM module, which is made by BMW, installs under the steering column. Not sure how much labor is involved with all the wiring, but it can be done. Member, my530i (Fred), has it on his car. I've seen it in person. It's pretty sweet. I think he was the first to have it on his car too.

Check out "my530i's" signature. You'll see "ACM Module" listed towards the end. That's it. I can't recall if he put a DVD Player in his glovebox as the source. I want to say he is using a Video iPod instead...
