My L7 amp burned out, and I believe I am required to have on in order to have my sound system work at all - is this correct? If I can replace with some other type of upgrade, please let me know.

While I'm at it, assuming I get another L7, I was already thinking about upgrading the sound system. I'm not that impressed with the L7 system as it is anyways. What recommendations does everyone have for upgrading speakers and the overall sound system? I want something that sounds better than the L7 that doesn't require extensive mods and add a passenger's worth of weight to the car. I'm not intersted subs in trunk, would just like more powerful and accurate sound. I'm not what you would call an audiophile so I don't care about having the best stuff out there, I just want better.

 

you have to have the OEM amp anyway ,, then you can upgrade your speakers ..

so you have no other choice but buy another L7 amp

 

That's what I figured. This seems common. Anywhere that I can get with without going to the dealership and getting smoked on price? What are good speaker upgrade options?

Thanks. Talked with them already and they are apparently working on an amp that is a direct swap for the L7 - which would be great. Is there a plug and play subwoofer upgrade?

Got the new L7 installed, back up and going. I like the BSW idea, easy plug and play install - some good reviews. Would I be better off running them with a separate amp? Are there many options for upgrading the subs?
