You guys won't believe where I found the answer to the warning triange! Mercedes...
Apparently, all you need is a 100 ohm 10W resistor. Here are two links:
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-cla...all-can-do.html
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w140-s-cla...late-bulbs.html
I'll let someone else beta test before I go and buy the LED bulbs and resistor.

The stock e60 license plate bulb is 12V 5W. So, someone with electrical knowledge can figure it out.

We have discussed LED lights and the need to use resistors a few times in the past (2004, 2005) on this board. The companies that I have checked out before sell 6 ohm/50 watt or 25 ohm/25 watt resistors, not 100 ohm 10w. Here are a couple of links to past threads on this subject:

If anyone got the resistors done right with the LEd's can you please post some pics on how to do it. If its difficult to do looking at pics, the meet is a good time to show. Thanks Jiio for the info, I wish I had time to follow up and do it myself.

I tried doing teh LED replacement in the rear and reverse lights but they will not light up. Im not sure why. i wonder if it's because i dont have resistors, the only ones that have worked so far are my side markers but the rears are not lighting up. I wonder why? Anyone know? Or had the same experience?

My Ride: '07 550i (5.4.06 pickup in Munchen)
'01 740i (on the block)
'03 325i (wife's)
'02 330i (retired and missed)
'93 325is (the one that started it all)
Has anyone figured this out yet? Which resistors work? How many ohms? I'd love to troubleshoot it and let you know my findings, but I've got no friggin' car! Maybe next week...
