Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but is there an aftermarket E60 tail lights that are LED for the actual brake lights? I was behind an E60 530i tonight, and what caught my attention was that when the brakes weren't applied (so it's only the park lights on) it LOOKS LED but then when the person braked at the stop light, it didn't brighten up like LED. Couldn't even tell if it had LCi upgrade or not because I was too busy tryin to figure out if it was LED or not hehe. Turn signals weren't LED.
Just curious.

Aftermarket : The tail and the brake are LEDs everything else are normal bulbs.
LCI : The Turn and the tail (rods) are LEDs everything else are normal bulbs.

The original real tail lights will reflect light with a scattered LED-like pattern. That may be what you saw. In the tails of mine I replaced the single bulb with a multi-LED bulb. The first pic is the standard filament bulb the second is w/the LED [IF the order of the pics works!]:
Oh ok. I think I saw the FIRST picture.. Because I know LEDs and the way her tail lights lighted up when she hit the brakes, is not the way LED bulbs light up! lol. My 4Runner's LED and you can tell they are LED plus they're really bright. That's why I was confused last night when I saw that girl with those tail lights hehe. Thanks for the clarification!
But can that second picture work with LED turn signals on an LCi E60? Sorry I'm new to this car still so I'm still confused with the different mod options I have hehe
