Seen these on ebay and they look really nice. Has anyone used them and if so would you recommend fitting these lights? It says that a resistor is included so that the dash warning does not show "blown bulb" as often is the case with aftermarket LED replacements.

So what do you reckon?

Personally I would wait to see if any of the LCI style appear on the market.

I believe there have been quite a few posts about the ebay etc LED rears.

Here's one.... http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...lights&st=0

Thanks both of you for your mails. It does seem a little dodgy to get something not OEM. Howver, the OEM facelift lights only have LEDs for the indicators and not true LED technolgy for the tail and brake lights I believe.

These aftermarket ones only have LEDs for the tails/brakes and not the indicators - you just can't win.

Couldn't BMW make the whole unit LED instead of driving us all mad? They did it on the last 3 series coupe so why not on the more expensive E60

Oh yes.

I could-not-afford-a-530d-LCI-but-I-got-the-looks-like-it-feature.

Makes one look really cheap, for those who really know and can afford the real LCI 53xd one.

Others do not see the differance - they do not care about such changes nore see it

A little confused. Are you saying putting the LCI tail lights on an older model is some sort of posing? Or are you talking about the eBay versions? Seems to me no different than someone putting style 166 wheels (or even a decent set of replicas) on any E60 other than an M5.
