Thanks guy's for the prompt responses and advise - it's greatly appreciated!

However, the ones from member pinguhk are 12v 8w, a similar bulb to the ones I already have bought - albeit 8w instead of 5w so brighter. Surely this will bring on the bulb warning light as it requires a 10w bulb in the LCI? The ones provided by pinguhk all seem to be going on pre-LCI car's - I read the long Thread and not seen one LCI with them fitted?

Next problem for me is how to remove the bulb holder, they are so tight and close to the casing of the headlight!

For clarity I already have These.

The link to this Thread doesn't say whether this car is an LCI or pre-LCI? I suspect pre-LCI?

Hi genetals,

I seen a post of yours where u recommend the GP thunder for the AE and Heons for the Fogs.

Can u please explain why so?

I am considering to change the AE and Fogs and was planning on either 7500k or 8500k GP Thunders for all of them.

Also, can u please recommend me which is the brightest of all? i mean, GP or Heons.

From personal experience:

The GP Thunder 8500K bulbs for the AE's are a good white color. The same bulbs for the fogs have a hint of blue. (pics in my gallery)

Via the temp Kelvin/K: 4000K-5000K is white, 8000K< tends to have blue...

The hoen xenon match bulbs I think burn around 4000K and from members here match better with the xenons. Personally I like the blueish tint on my fog lights (if/when I ever turn them on).

***All these bulbs for the price and result are well worth it....that's the biggest reason why most members, inlcuding myself recc these bulbs. If you want something brighter, you'll have to get an HID kit....GL

I just installed the 7500k GP Thunder H8 bulbs. Pretty good color, but definitely dimmer than the stock bulb.

Comparison (GP Thunder on passenger side, stock on driver's side):

You can tell they'll be dimmer simply by looking at how much blue coating is on the bulb.

The GP's are definitely a dimmer than stocks, but IMO it's a small trade for the white-r Halo....just curious to know why you chose 7500K vs. 8500K

also...nice RPI scoops

I agree the white color is a worthwhile trade, though I think it would be interesting if something like the Duke Dynamics Crystal 33w LED was available.

Stock H8: 800 lumens
Duke Dynamics Crystal 33w: 2700 lumens

They're a little blue for my tastes, but they are bright. I guess HID is an option, but I'm not crazy about going HID with the extra heat, the constant on/off, etc. Changing over to 08 LCI headlights/taillights was already a big enough pain, I don't want to do anything that may shorten their lifespan.

I would guess these GP are roughly 500-600 lumens, if even that.

I went with 7500k instead of 8500k because the 7500k are already more blue than the headlights. Ideally, I'd want something to match the shade of white the headlights are (4300k new, probably about 5000k with use). Also, the 8500k bulbs have an even darker shade of blue on them, making them even dimmer.
