There is no strobing when light switch is at the "auto" or any "on" position. Strobing occurs only when switch is at the off "0" position.
Really??? I only have my switch on the "auto" position so I might be able to live with this.

This is correct for the LED bars connected to the brake or tail lights. However the Turn light strobes in any position and also as mentioned once about every 5 mins.

In fact if anyone has the aftermarket LED lights can they please try this - Keeping the switch in 0 position and check if they get strobing on their lights. I suspect they will but since most people have this set to Auto they don't notice the strobing.

On the !! good news !! I now understand how the aftermarket LED lights have stopped the strobing. Problem is that I don't have a solution for the strobing for our lights. The aftermarket lights seem to have designed their lights using different power +V and -V for the LEDs but the OEM lights have a common -V which throws a spanner in the works.

Only on the rear indicators as Bruce mentioned. This occurs in Auto setting. You get both rear indicators strobing for a few seconds on ignition start up, then once each every few minutes or so. It's that brief though it's not really noticeable unless you are looking for it.

Do you have the taillight already ? I contacted the previous group buy seller for the taillight and the price is about $600 or less. Maybe we can ask Alex.br to contact the seller for another group buy after Bruce fixes the strobing issue.

no i do not have the lights yet, but i think there was a set on ebay from overseas that was much less than $600. i would imagine in a few months, bmw would have a retrofit kit...who knows though, some were prediciting we would have that kit by now already

Oversea ? Do you mean Asia or Europe ?? If BMW is coming out with a retrofit kit, it ain't cheap. Therefore, aftermarket taillight and cable from Bruce may be cheaper.

not sure where exactly, but they were OEM products. I have yet to see an accurate LCI knockoff
