Has anyone tried retrofitting LCI headlights without new loom and LCM?
Surely isn't is a case of adding a relay to the angeleye bulb curcuit?
All the rest of the bulbs comsume same power as pre lci?

2. Different bulbs
3. LCI headlights have different functions (corner lights, pass to flash on xenon) thus different internal working.
no go...
Which bulbs are different? (Pre LCI non adaptive xenon vs LCI non adaptive xenon)
As far as I was aware it is just the angeleye bulb is different? 10W Ba9 on pre LCI and 35W H8 on LCI.
A loom adapter won't be hard to make, can source plugs from the dealer

Nonetheless, if one figures out what each wire does with the pre lci LM you could theoretically get most of the functions working, especially on non xenon/adaptive headlights.
good luck to the modders !

Hello Fred,
Are you in California? The dealers here don't seem to know anything yet. They pretty much brush you aside and say it is not possible. I think it really depends on how close you are with your SA and if he is willing to go ahead and do it. Another thing is that the updated installation manual stated for cars built "from 3/2005". I can see a problem with the majority of members here having '04 & '05 cars. More than likely, their SA will tell them that it is not for their year model. I have a 12/2003 built car...so don't let them tell you that it cannot be done.
The encoding software is already there as of Progman version 28 under retrofit. We had one hell of a difficult time locating the software to encode the car--the name of it is called "lights package". It is a very vague-crytic name and when you have so many retrofit options it is like trying to identify something out of a haystack. And from the name of it, it is very likely that BMW will release an all-in-one package. If you are in Socal area--I can refer you to a great SA and dealer that had my car done.
I'll will surely post more details soon...

Rootkit,
Can you please tell us the steps to retrofit this? What to tell at the dealer?
Thanks,
Fred
