I don?t think that will work. There are some LM LCI versions but only one that # ends with 144 will work with pre LCI cars retrofit. This LM couldn't be find on LCI cars.

The only LM that can be coded for the retrofit ends in 4944. Part No. 61 35 9 154 944. I was told from BMW dealerships that these were discontinued when I did my install. At the time of my install SonicMS were able to order this you can give them a call.
Yes it is LM ending # 944 not 144 like I post above. Sorry I mistype!

My Ride: 2004 530i, Silver Gray, Premium Pkg, Cold Weather package, Black Leather seats with lumbar support, Poplar wood finish.
Mods: M6 19" wheels with 245/35/19 Front Tires 275/30/19 Rear Tires, K&N Filter, H&R Sway bars, Magnaflow Muffler, Sprint Booster, Black front grill, M-tech front bumper, Debadged
for what it's worth...I have an early 04' 530i (09/03 production) which got a little damaged and needs the headlights replaced.
I want to swap out the pre-LCI headlights with the LCI ones and after reading this thread I went to the dealer to find out if there can be a direct swap without changing the Light Module. The response I got was that it is a direct swap and doesnt need any retro-fit kit. It just needs re-programming, which it would have needed anyways when they even put in the pre-LCI headlights.
So either the BMW parts guys have got this wrong or this thread is not correct?
inputs?

Nope, at least the plug are different between LCI & pre-LCI among other endless things... have the parts guys dig it up for the plug pics.
If they firmly sure of what they say than have them hold accountable for any further problem and feel free to proceed.

I'm very sure the headlights are not swap-able. The plugs are different.
Been a long while; I remember under the programming tool showed up as "lights package" so i assume
in the US it may be released as one big kit (headlights+tailights+adapters etc.)
I had the retrofit done almost 2 years ago.

i've also done this conversion but it's not easy. Mine is pre lci halogen to lci adapt xenons. The adaptive function is inactive though. I'm sure the dealers will not do this conversion.
