any updates on this? The e90fanatics have figured this out. Why cant we? Lets discuss ONLY LCI cars going forward. It's supposedly a simple change of an H8 bulb. Please lets get some resolution on this. I too am getting an LCI car soon and would like to have this figured out beforehand.

bump

Cant let this one go. There must be someone out there who has whitened their DRL's somehow on an LCI model. I know the E90/92 is a simple bulb change. Im assuming its the same for an LCI E60. Im not really looking to be the guinea pig. I have til Feb. to figure this out. It seems to be an H8 bulb on the E90/92. Hoping its the same for the E60's

Yes the E60 LCI uses H8 bulbs!

I have tried GP Thunder 8500k but wasn't satisfied. Stock still looks brighter!

Does anyone from AIB or Umnitza know when they will release the real deal for LCI car models?

Why not try installing an H8 HID kit? Probably cost the same if not cheaper than a solution made by umnitza or AiB's.

That's a good idea but i don't want to be the first to do this among LCI owners. I don't have the time and money to burn for some trial and error solution. I just want a plug and play off the shelf solution.

Anyway, when i installed the gp thunder h8 8500k, i noticed that the bulb light output was being shared between the 2 halos. One ring is brighter than the other and it was pretty dim! An HID kit would probably do the trick since it outputs light brighter than the headlights. Also, I've read in this forum that HID kits is a PITA to deal with (error codes, flickering, electrical problems, battery draining, etc.)

Question is: who wants to be the bait?

Anyone?

I'll add the HID's into the angel eyes. Want to donate your car or your headlights for me to do it?

Nah, for E90/E92 & pre-LCI E60 it's a different story but for LCI models it's dim as hell. Trust me, i've been to that route and it's nothing compared to umnitza and aib IMHO. I just hope they would come up with one for the LCI already.

Anyway, i might jump the gun with the HID h8 upgrade. Am just waiting for McCulloch's response on my inquiry about their HID kit. Do you guys think i should go for 5000k, 6000k or 10000k? I am trying to achieve the brightest white output as possible. I would appreciate all your .02cents so we can get this dilemma over with. Thanks!

Will post results if any of you LCI owners care. If not it's koo.

Eagerly waiting!....
