To achieve the LCI effect - not talking about brighter lights - the slow dimming effect when you switch off the lights, you will need to replace the LCM on your car. I did that and had it recoded with the LCI settings, with the new tailights and an OEM e46 cable (same one being used) without the additions. Bruce helped me on my cable which was a unique one.

I have my stock pre-lci headlights and the LCI tail lights both work as an LCI giving me the dimming effect. I also managed to eliminate the strobing that occurs at start.

Well I put together a retrofit kit for my car using odd parts - now I understand that there is a complete kit on the market for both the front and tail lights supposedly the part # for that kit is 61 12 0432 110 but i still have not obtain full info on what is in this kit.

I noticed that the AEs are much brighter in DRL mode than in 'Parking lights' mode. Might be good to know.

I think you mean the Tail lights. I think we talked to you on the phone about the tails

I think you could start simple with the LED angel eyes upgrade

To be honest - I am still researching on this part # and still have not had reply from BMW. I just want to see what is included in this kit. I know that there are 3 kits out (1 for cars without xenon - 1 for cars before 05 and 1 for car after 05). It seems that for cars manufactured before 05 additional items will be required to be changed.

Hi all,

I know there have been quite a few posts along these lines before, but there is just too much info for me to take in by trawling through all of the previous posts talking about the different versions and upgraded versions of the various angel eye upgrades available, and many posts are fairly old and probably out of date now anyway.

So - I have my new LCI E60 on order, due for delivery in about 6 weeks time. I want to order some replacement angel eyes and have these ready to fit on delivery so want to order them fairly soon. Could anybody please let me know which are the best replacements available out of those on the market (either from people on these boards or elsewhere), and the costs/website link/discount codes etc?

I know it may be subjective but I just want to make sure I order something that is going to serve me well, which is easy to fit and won't give any i-drive errors or other car problems (I have read about radio interference as one example).

I don't mind receiving PM's, but would prefer to have replies in this thread for other users to see.

Thanks!
Russ, let us know if you do anything on this.

According to my manual, the standard ones are 35Watt H8.

regards,

regards,
I messaged him about this earlier and he is very happy with the stock OEMs on the LCI
Now we just have to figure out the best way to replicate this on earlier models.
Cheers

The stock ones are good ... but just yesterday I had a 3-series behind me with obviously aftermarket halo's. First time I had ever seen them in person. Pure, bright white, and looked AMAZING. I definitely want to upgrade mine now...

any updates on this? The e90fanatics have figured this out. Why cant we? Lets discuss ONLY LCI cars going forward. It's supposedly a simple change of an H8 bulb. Please lets get some resolution on this. I too am getting an LCI car soon and would like to have this figured out beforehand.
