So far $2400 on parts only cause all new parts from dealer. I believe yours is an 03/2005 built your able to reuse some of the existing modules and may need new LM but unsure.

I have clue about the body sensor and lights etc... did not hear about that from any member that have done the conversion. And what switch panel are you talking about?

The adaptive xenon lights have auto leveling which is controlled by extra sensors front and rear, theres no level switch on the light switch panel or least thats how mine came from the factory.

Don`t know if they can be manually leveled, the official retrofit instructions list level sensors and a new light switch panel as required parts.

No new light switch is necessary. It seems that you guys over the pond have a few things that are slightly different, auto-leveling being a requisite for all E60 headlights. But xenons, they're the same, plus he's going from xenon to xenon. So the only pieces that are required are the AHL modules.

JR: I thought you said you're going to stop spending money on mods!

+1. Some people just want info to be spoon feed to them. A quick search will generate bunch of threads with all info needed for this retrofit.

With uncoded AHL modules, if after coding the, both L & R and LMA with blank .MAN and the driver side does not stop at center when you turn the wheels while in park, you need to ground pin 12 on the driver headlight harness and then recode the left SMC with a blank .MAN and +MUEB in the FA to let that module know it is the driver side. By defaut the AHL thinks it is for the right headlight, this procedure tells the left it is left. Of course you unground pin 12 after you code.
