, i tried both side's and the 2 don't come out.

They come out of the socket, but not out of the fitting. you can also see on realoem that there is only 1 part. So no fitting and bulb like in pre-lci

You're probably doing it wrong still. I have taken mine out, and I know for a fact another member has taken his out multiple times as well (when he was trying to find a good replacement).

they do come out, just a case of cutting the plastic tab off the unit, then the back can lift out, and the bulb just pops out like any other bulb,
done it a few times, just trying to find a decent bulb to replace it with without causing errors,

Anyone tried these as a simple bulb swap?

I have a pair on order and will post results once fitted.

Sorry dude, that will hardly show. It's pretty weak actually.

Ah well - only a couple of quid down the pan.

That was the most powerful in the fitting LED I found (I thought) - I have panels of 3x3 similar SMDs in my interior console lights and they are so bright even with the frosted cover on it hurts to look at them.

Can you advise on what sort of numbers / codes to look for instead please.

i think the pre-lci is only a 5 watt bulb. the fitting is verry different tough ...

in a pre-lci you can just change the AE bulb, in LCI headlights you need to change the complete fitting (i tried to get the bulb out of the fitting but no matter with how many force i pulled the bulb it didn't come out).

Can't remember now, as I'm not at home to check the pre-LCI, but I'm 90% sure it is 10W bulb.
And I thing, when they have designed the headlight, they have used the maximum of the safety heat which the 10W bulb can generate, I want my AE as bright as possible, but I wouldn't just put 20W bulb in there.

Sorry dude, unfortunately, for the pre-LCI halogens, there just aren't any good solutions unless you're willing to cut open the headlights. The brightest bulb replacement I know is the high intensity white LEDs in T10. However, it will require you to put resistors in there, or code the error out.

You are correct, each bulb for the halogen angel eyes are 10w each, so 20w on each side, and 40w total on halogen angel eyes.

Ok, an update. I tried ordering and installing 20w bulbs in the original fitting.

The bulb worked for about 5 secs then the ae (of only that side) went out.

I searched everywhere for a fuse but i did not find any regarding the ae`s.

Tried cooling the ae and then restart but it did not work. When i got the 20w bulb back out i saw it was not broken.

The solution to get that ae back working was putting the original 10w bulb back...

My hands were hurting verry much and i`m left without a solution.
