I installed the K&N filter about 3 weeks ago (the 545 model fits the 550 perfectly), but I have not noticed much of a difference in performance. Removing the charcoal filter has more of a seat-of-the-pants impact.
However, I have not had any cold start rough idles since installing the K&N filter.
Together, these two filter mods seem to allow for much easier breathing and the engine runs much much better.

All of these replies was concerning petrol cars?
All I know is that if there is big difference in flow of air , you will have to adjust the chip , so I've been told seem logical
But again this is not needed on diesel engines
MAF will get dirty and is easy to clean , but be careful , its a expensive part , you must make sure that what you are using is safe for the part , oil residue will appear on the MAF over time and this will cause loss of performance , also if it breaks , there is a replacement part from the makers of the OEM part , 2-3 numbers higher than OEM part , way cheaper .
So is there anyone here who has done the filter upgrade on a diesel?
Dying to hear some feedback from others with the diesel 530

Side effect my AS*
the only side effect you going to get is not instlling it.
Put it in and I tell you you will have fun not much but you will.
I have had my K&N filter for over 6 years now and I can TELL YOU I HAD NO SIDE EFFECT

Several users have reported car stalls after putting in the K&N...which go away after a while.
Is that a known problem? I ma planning to put in the new filter in my 04'530 this week.
