Hi guys, I just bought the air filter, and I'm thinking of installing it. But my friend told me not to install it yet as there might be some "side effect" after I install the filter. Has anyone used it? Can you share your experience with it here? Thanks a lot in advance

I own a 06 525i. Will update my profile once my mtech kit and everything has been installed. So there is no bad effect installing it right?
Thanks

Ah, alright. Thanks a lot! I was worrying because my friend said that it's oil-based so it might harm the car. Thanks Hamann Now I can install it without worry when it arrives

Side effect my AS*
the only side effect you going to get is not instlling it.
Put it in and I tell you you will have fun not much but you will.
I have had my K&N filter for over 6 years now and I can TELL YOU I HAD NO SIDE EFFECT

The only harm from wet air filters is the risk of putting too much oil on the filter and having it get onto the MAF. There is controversy over the K&N air filters, some people love it while others don't. However, most people seem to really like their oil filters.

You who have installed the K&N filter, did you have to do any reprogramming to the engine whatsoever ?
Or just taking the original out, putting K&N in, and that's it. So simple ??
