My Ride: SOLD...Jet Black 2008 550i M Sport with SAT, black interior. RPI exhaust and air scoop, 35% huper optik tint all around, CF roundels, flat black kidneys, Springfield Armory XD-40 jet black in glove box, charcoal filter removed.
Just have to know the right people I guess, kidding, I don't know any of these guys personally, but Trinity has been a pleasure to do business with and they haven't left me down yet.
Apparently these wheels just 'happened' to be sitting around, the last set so they say. I snagged them while I could.
Your comment about them being silver is my only concern - they are suppose to be "brushed titanium". Hmmmmm, they look silver and say silver on the box. I'll let Trinity respond to a side email before going there.

OK, just confirmed by Trinity and Forgestar - these are the new Brushed Titanium finish. I have to say, they are more silver like than I thought. They still look killer in my opinion. I see a PC in there future though, to a darker finish. Maybe when I need new rubber and switch them out with the 172's.

I love these very nice choice.
Once you experience the improvement in acceleration, ride and handling from the lighter wheels you won't be swapping back to OEM's. Good choice getting great looking wheels that also improve the way car drives.

If the 172s have a 20mm offset just like the Forgestars, it'll be as if you're running a 12.8mm spacer.
If the 172s have a 18mm offset then you won't need spacers because the outside will have the extra 10.8mm. I'm guessing right now your fronts w/ the 17s still have about 5.8mm until it's flush with the fender?
Rears
Now your rears will be as if you put an 18.35mm spacer on your 172s.
To summarize, if my math is all correct (I've had a few beers), you won't need spacers.
BTW when they say "will have 18mm less clearance on the inside" that means they got you a wider width by adding to the inside of the rim like i mentioned on the phone.

Rears: Current are 19x9.5 with a 32mm offset. New forgestars are 19x10 with a 20mm offset. The calculator tells me that the new wheels will have 6mm more clearance on the inside and extend an extra 18mm on the outside.
Fronts: Current are 19x8 with either an 18 or a 20 offset (I've seen conflicting info on this for the stock 172's upfront). New forgestars are 19x9 with a 20mm offset. The calculator tells me that the new wheels (compared to an 18mm offset stock) will have 18mm less clearance on the inside and extend an extra 11mm on the outside. If I use a 20mm offset for the stock 172's, the numbers change to 13mm and 13mm.
