I have a manual and I was going to install the SB this afternoon. I don't really have to do the CDV first, do I?

It's worth it, if you don't like it (which will not be the case) you can sell it in a heartbeat on the forum for $20-30 less.

My fiancee knew I put something new on the car but she had no idea what it was or what it did. The next day she drove the car to take her daughter to school. She called me and wanted to know what I did to the car. She said she was pulling out of the parking lot and when she pushed on the accelerator "the car jumped and the tires squeeled." I own one, the response and throttle response is night and day.
It is not to say you cannot achieve the same get up and go off the line with out the SB, but you have to almost put the accelerator to the floor to do so.
I usually have my Trans flipped over into the Steptronic, unless I have passengers that don't appreciate ACCELERATION or I am on the HWY.
IMO get the SB and if you don't like it, someone on this board or eBay will snatch it up. My money says you will keep it.

I took my SB out the other day to see what the car was like with my new Remap, but without the SB. Needless to say it was very slow to react, even after a throttle reset 
This morning my wife drove me to the airport, I asked if she liked it without the SB and she just gave me that "you muppet" look 
... the SB goes straight back in when I get home!

So my only problem with the SB is my avg MPG is really suffering. My six now guzzles gas like an 8! But that doesn't change the fact that the cars is so much more fun to drive!!!
