Finally had some time to go forward with this mod, I was going have it done by a shop who wanted $400 LOL
but I figured it cant be that hard...

how did you cut it? did you paint the exposed metal on the cut?

Remember its aluminum so I assume it is not as big of a deal as far as oxidation.

awesome job! im planning on doing the same mod very soon and plan to do it myself, seems too easy to do. just a question, is their a certain distance the hole needs to be aligned to be at the same spot as the m5 fenders? i wasnt able to find any threads on that besides just eye'ing it.

did you use OEM fender grills? or aftermarket? how did they fit and any things to look out for?

I didn't realize the door skins were aluminum. I thought it was just the panels forward of the A-pillars.
