I'VE HAD MY 2007 BMW 525I FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW, I AM GETTING READY TO GET A JL AUDIO W7 WITH THE JL AUDIO 1000/1 AMP. I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT SYSTEMS BUT I KNOW THAT THIS SETUP IS VERY GOOD. NOW I WANTED TO KNOW IF I WILL NEED A CERTAIN CAPACITOR OR NEED TO CHANGE MY ALTERNATOR. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED???

I have the same setup on my 545. I have a battery cap, just in case to be on the safe side. Other than that you should be good. just make sure that the people who are setting it up know what they are doing.

did you have any problems with your system.. like when i turn up the volume on mine the sub cut out but the amp to go into protect and the second i put the volume down they come right back on. i was wondering which wires did you tap into for LOC and also do you have the logic7 system?

i'd actually get the battery before the cap but that's just me. this battery is specifically designed for this type of application.

WELL I WOULD GET A DIFF. BATTERY BUT IF I REALLY DONT NEED IT ID RATHER THAN JUST BUY A CAPACITOR, BUT BUYING A DIFF. BATTERY WOULD DRAIN MY POCKET, SO I REALLY NEED TO KNOW IF A BETTER BATTERY IS NEEDED OR A BETTER ALTERNATOR(WHICH I HOPE I DONT HAVE TO MESS WITH THAT) OR JUST A CAPACITOR.

get the battery. the capacitor helps with noise/interference in the sound quality.

This is what I'd do. Get the Optima Yellow Top, then fix/update BIG 3, then cap.

"Big 3" - that is to replace (or add to) the power wire between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis with at least 2 AWG wire.

You dont need a capacitor but will need a battery. i have the ODYSSEY PC 1700T Battery installed.

Its one of the best batteries out there. check the specs!!! eventually u will need a higher output alternator.
