Nice. Does it matter if it's a 135 or 535? I said 400+hp earlier and someone said that it was numbers from a 135. Does size of the car really influence the power the engine makes when the it's the same engine? Maybe at the wheel power? I can understand the numbers being different there. But if it's 425 on a 135, how much lower can it be on an equally equiped 535? 400? 390? That's still a huge boost in power.
Now the question is do we go for a plug or a pin? Pin's def. cheaper, but... can that not receive updates like the plug can through your computer?

I've had a JB3 in my 535i for about 8 months now and has tons of power. The only problem is when you run the car hard repeatedly, the car will go into limp mode. Every dyno run I've had the car produces awesome gains but on the 4th or 5th consecutive pull, LIMP! On top of that everytime I go to the dealership, I must pull the JB3 out then re-install it when I get the car back.
A pigggy back tune like jb3 and procede intercept the signals from the ecu and converts them to higher boost levels. Basically the ecu and the piggy back are fighting against each other, resulting in a limp code. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would go with a reflash. Not only are the reflashes undetectable by the dealership, they don't go in to limp mode.
The Dinan stage two is a moderate tune, reliable and undetectable by the dealership. If there are any warranty problems caused by the reflash, Dinan will cover the warranty. But if you want pure power and more aggresive tune, I would go with the RPi: Power Chip reflash. I plan on selling my jb3 and purchasing the RPI reflash within the next few weeks.
Good luck hope this helped

actually if anybody is interested, I plan on selling my 8 month old JB3 pin out CHEAP! PM me if interested.
By the way, I dyno'ed my car at 310 Wheel HP = 400 Crank HP (dyno dynamics dynojet) with a JB3, BMC drop in filter, RPi scoops, and Dinan exhaust!

Only get the PnP and as Mike states, JB3 1.3 is all that is shipping and people have been extremely happy with the results. The 535i is a bit different than the 135i/335i. The car is heavier and the rear gear ratios are different. But we should still be able to get really good HP and Torque improvements. If you run better gas you'll get better returns.

Actually I raced a 335 w/JB3 vs my 535i w/JB3 and i won everytime. I think they're pretty similar in terms of performance. of course driving skills come into play.
