most of those numbers are done with 135's and 335's...and a lot of those numbers are with mods including downpipes, FMIC, exhaust, etc...(basically more bolt on parts, not stock + jb3)

the stock box vs CAI debate on e90posts and n54tech will never end....basically if you want it to sound cool, get a DCI, but if you want performance, stick with the stock box

RPI performed a dyno with the Injen DCI vs. stock box...stock box still proved better...

the BMS DCI has been know to throw codes as well on 535i's (i believe it was due to the hot air being sucked in from the engine bay)...again, stick with the stock box and get a drop in filter + scoop...

Oh wow, too many terms I don't know. Stock box? So no JB3 and just stick to a K&N filter and those RPI scoops?

yes on the jb3, no on a dci/yes on filter + scoop

So with the JB3 and scoop/filter, how much HP can one expect to gain (running the default JB3 map and 93 octane)?

some numbers here on mie@n54tuning.com 's FS thread for the jb3..

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=69841&hl=

you can also research at n54tech or e90posts, again most numbers are on 335's or 135's

***also, I believe those numbers are for jb3 v1.2, v1.3 is to be released soon and numbers are even better...

Thanks, I appreciate the links. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on these two mods myself.

Nice. Does it matter if it's a 135 or 535? I said 400+hp earlier and someone said that it was numbers from a 135. Does size of the car really influence the power the engine makes when the it's the same engine? Maybe at the wheel power? I can understand the numbers being different there. But if it's 425 on a 135, how much lower can it be on an equally equiped 535? 400? 390? That's still a huge boost in power.

Now the question is do we go for a plug or a pin? Pin's def. cheaper, but... can that not receive updates like the plug can through your computer?

If anybody wants any info on the JB3 please feel free to PM me

Basically with the new 1.3 which was just released we have managed to combine jaw dropping power and kick in your pants acceleration with a very smooth delivery. Its a fantastic blend of refined raw power.

The JB3 is available off my site or from BMS. IF you follow the link below it will explain a few things and show you which maps are available with the JB3.

Best bang for the buck mod by far
