iPod Nano (3rd Gen)???

I'm planning to purchase the BMW iPod interface module and was wondering if my 3rd generation iPod nano is compatible with it?? I called 2 dealers and both didn't give me a definite answer. Also, my car currently has Progman v.25, does it need an update so the car would recognize the iPod?? Thanks!!
