Can it be? They're asking more then $1,000 for the iPod interface to iDrive . Also, they say it will take one full working day to complete the job. Anyone?
Just called my dealer in Spain. Price is 218,93euro + taxes. Installation time is approx 0.75 hours

Hi guys...i just bought the new IPOD interface from BMW since it just came available about 2 weeks ago. The girl actually told me i was the first one she sold. Its getting installed at the dealer tomorrow. It cost me $295 and they said its an hour and a half job.....so about $150. It is expensive but i have a lot invested in my IPOD and its worth not messing with any CDs.

hope you know about the limitations (not more than 250 Artists, Albums, etc.). As the Dension Interface Gateway 500 should show up in the next weeks I would have waited to see their solution and issues. In addition it can maybe installed by yourself so the price is equal by maybe better functionality (USB Stick capability!).

Have you some updated information then? The Dension solution has been "coming soon" for about 18 months and the last missed deadline was an end June release. I can't hang on much longer and at least the BMW interface, though not perfect, does exist outside the pure realm of marketing

My Ride: 05 545, non-sport,silver gray, premium, cold weather, I-pod adapter, Predator Ice, M tech, Logic 7, hardwired V1, Remus exhaust, soon to be: 18" Beyern multi wheels w/ Michelin Pilots
My IPOD adapter was installed today. Sound is great with Logic! Cost was 299.00 for part and 172.00 for install. Car has to be recoded as did not have lates software version. Yeah, I lost my CD changer but I had never used it anyway. Can still use single CD player in console.
