I'm installing one thursday and i want to know if it charges the unit also.
It would suck to have to take it out and charge it all the time.

It really depends on the iPod that you have.

I've got the classic(120 gb)
The problem is the OEM adaptor uses the old 12V "firewire" charging profile, which uses a specific pin on the ipod plug. The iPhone 3G and Ipod Touch 2nd Gen only support the 5V "USB" profile, which uses a different pin. Older iPod's (3rd Gen and onwards, including iPod, Picture, Video and Classic) can use both profiles. Apple did give fair warning they intended to discontinue the 12V profile, but hardly anyone paid attention, even fairly recent BOSE soundocks only support the 12V profile.
For the iPhone 3G's and iPod Touch 2nd Gen's, various outlets sell highly overpriced adaptors that regulate the voltage to 5V and move it to the USB charging profile pin on the plug.

You'll be fine, only the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd gen don't charge off the OEM iPod adaptor. For these you can buy an inline adaptor.

Thanks for the info.
