I think I've had mine in the car for the last year. This is Chicago - 0 in the winter and 100 in the summer - no issues.

Of course I would not want to see what the battery life would be like if it was not plugged in!

I seldom remove my iPod except when I either use it elsewhere or need to update it.

My car sleeps just fine with my iPod. It might be a bit groggy in the morning if I keep it out too late, however.

I try not to leave it in the glove box. But it tends to happen frequently....

Car's electronics all shut down after 15 minutes. No worry about battery drain.
