Question Interchangeable gauge clusters

Thank you, I am new here and just purchased my first BMW it’s a 2007 550 I and my instrument cluster is not working. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery charging the battery and reconnecting it that did not help I am curious ifThere is any interchangeable instrument clusters as I am limited on local scrap yards and have found a 545 I instrument cluster

There are a few options. But I will say you have to find a cluster with lower mileage than you or have it virginized; both will have it coded to your car.

04-07 V8 cars (545/550) will be the exact same as yours and drop in
08-10 550 cars can work; you get the newer style gauge rings but you lose the coolant warm up meter(the ringed line that moves on warm up around the tach)
04-07 E63/E64 645/650 can work, they have a bigger gauge ring that is the same as the M5/M6 and they have oil temperature gauge instead of fuel economy
08-10 E63E64 650 can work same as above but you lose the coolant warm up meter

M5/M6 ones will work also but your Tach/redline wont match what is for the V8 cars

I have an 07 550i. I put the id4motion digital gauges in. A little pricey, and you have to pay if you want to add specific features, but we'll eorht the money, imo.
