My Ride: 2004 545i
Production date: 02/04
Color: Black Sapphire Metallic
Trim: Anthracite
Options: Sport package with STEPTRONIC, Premium Sound, Rear Sunshade, Xenon

Just installed it half hour ago. There was some uneven lines between the rpi and my air vent hole...I had to buy a waterproof metal repair tape and paste it between the rpi and the entrance of the air vent to ensure a smooth flow of air and I painted it black. Don't want any air turbulance

I tape it between the screws (I actually covered up the screws too )and the mouth of the entrance. I don't know why but mine had like a 1/2cm difference (not completly flushed as per the picture posted by rpi).I rubbed it down and its completely flushed...if you need some I can cut a few strips and send it to you. Its silver but I painted it black and you can't hardly see it....best of all its waterproof.. ![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)

The scoops came black....I cut out the RPI on a label, paste it on the metal and spray it red. After I peel it off and viola....if you want some metal tape I can send you some too...I think it is better to tape it and have a smooth flow of air into the air vent.
what kind of paint did you use?
thanks!

A few things...
1. Roy - Looks sick! Love the red.
2. Both of my scoops are black and I want them to be red. What paint did you use? How many coats did you apply? I might do this tomorrow.
3. Was the sticker easy to take off? I'm thinking the stickers on mine, might be a bit harder to remove, since my scoops have been on the car for quite some time.
4. How's the performance? Notice a difference? I can absolutely tell the difference on my car. I recently drove a stock M and it was very noticeable.
Looks GREAT Roy. Good job man.
