Hi All,
I just installed my Eibach Pro Kit for my 2004 530i. I also installed some new rotors and Axxis brakes pads.
My question is, How long will it take for the springs to be settled in? How much lower will it get? Is the 1.2 inches the initial drop or will the springs settle to that specific height?
It is stiffer than my Non-Sports 530i, and I hit a good number of bumps this past weekend. A few times I think the wheel hit my wheel fender, (can't confirm or deny, but it was sure as hell loud and scary). I also have 18 inch BMW rims, with 245/40 in the front and 275/35 in the rear.
Has anyone had similar problems or reactions to hitting bumps with these springs? It is cause my shocks are too soft?
Also, with the brake pads / rotors, how long before I can brake hard? I want to make sure I bed them in slowly. (I can't do the extreme bedding cause there arent' enough roads around my area to do the extreme stop and go bedding technique).
I thought the ride was going to be a little more comfortable, but its pretty rough.. reminds me of my HONDA CRX days when my crx was lowered.....

I am very interested in seeing pics.........
I have put Pro Kits on 2 of my other cars and loved them. Perfect ride. Not harsh AT ALL. Not sure about your case. Did you cut the bump stops at all??

The same reason why I switched back from H&R coilovers to stock sport suspension. I did install Vogtland sport springs though.
Your ride is looking good .

Those stock non sport struts give you a lot of bump steer feeling with stock springs. You might have too upgrade to a factory sport strut or go to a Koni. The ride should smooth out from there. Its not the struts being soft they're just not valved for the sport springs.

I put the Pro Kit on my non sport E46 Cabrio and it rode perfect. I'm sure an E46 and an E60 are different, but that's just my experience.
I take it you had them installed? The bump stops are little hard foam pieces that are on the cylinder shaft of your strut/spring that act as a "soft stop" when your shock/strut bottoms out. If you don't cut them, you will bottom out more with a lowered spring....
Am I missing pics of this?
Rizbel, is the pic in your sig of the Vogtland springs? Looks sick........

i love having the pro-kit on my 530i. i dont experience any bottoming out or anything with bumps. only time i bottomed out was while getting in my garage too quickly... stupid me. but the eibach pro-kit i believe was made to partner the stock oem shocks. wouldnt hurt to change them though if thats what you would want to do. and the springs have been said to settle probably about 1 week or after driving about 300 miles on them.

I have about 63k miles on a Non-Sports package e60, so those shocks probably need to get replaced soon huh?
Any recommendations to get shocks that are close to sport suspension ride?
What brands are good for BMW for struts? I want something closest to OEM sport ride and will last me a good number of yrs.
I just got my springs and rotors and brake pads installed and bleeded my brake fluid at my cousins shop for 250 total. (family price of course)
He's probably going to kick my ass if I change the shocks now.
=)
