Another problem occurred.
Passenger side mirror sits fine and looks normal but for some reason driver side mirror is odd. To get proper rear view I have to set the mirror to an extreme position and still half of the mirror is showing the side of the car and only the other half shows the actual rear view? This is very unpractical for my dad, who uses the car often, is taller than I am and sits farther back and the mirror can not be turned any further

r u sure you have dont have a lhd mirror for a rhd car (or vice versa)?
Well that's one of those things I'm afraid of because mirrors are painted already. I already sent mail to the car-gym and asked them how I can check this on my mirrors. I'm sure I ordered LHD mirrors.

I got manual fold mirrors a week ago and installed them yesterday. I have similar problems with wiring... I have 4 wires leaving my original mirrors and reps got also 4 and 5.. but 5 wires are similar coloured as original but it does not work even I changed the plastic connector.
Another problem occurred.

How about you jtsui.. do they fit perfectly on your car.
I like they look better though than original E60 mirrors, not meaning M5 mirrors.

I got an answer to my other problem with wiring. My new 2008 E60 has fiber optic mirror wiring and it does not work properly with normal wiring. I was kindly to requested to return the mirrors but I love the look of my new BMW. Perhaps have to try DIY changing the mirrormotors.

nice lookin' reps. the only thing it doesn't have are the puddle lights. to me, not having puddle lights and/or auto fold, would be deal breakers for me.

I haven't put mind on, got no time yet, but wanna do it this weekend, I'll let you know for the result, I have lot more to do than you dude, mind has autofold, those 9 wires look terrible to me. I've tried to take out the mirror's lens of the replica, but it seems so difficult, the original 530 mirror's lens were so easy to take off, I used the same way apply it on the replica M mirrors, but just couldn't lift it up, don't know why dude, is there a special way to take it off? like a click button or something? I saw the holder of the lens is a little bit different than the original 530 mirrors lens holder, am I correct?
I haven't removed the mirror lenses from either of the mirrors, old or new. I bet the painting shop who painted my mirrors removed them but I have no idea what's the trick.
Let me know the trick when you figure it out because it looks like I have to go DIY and install the interior mechanism of the old mirrors into the new ones.
Now the mirrors are installed but electronics does not work properly. Looks great though.

Just bought my OEM M5's today. Was told the only feature I will lose is the auto-tilt (when back-up). Apparently there are 2 M5 mirror types. One with this feature and one without. For $200 per mirror, I could have gotten the auto tilt, but I never use it so....
The puddle lights and fold I was told will work. If not, I will be asking for a refund!
