I heard that the installation of a M5 steering is possible for the E60/ E61 with automatic gear.

Is there a DIY for this?

Yes, but its tedious and takes about 8 hours if you don't know what you're doing.

I think changing the steering wheel is not the problem.
What I want to know is how to connect which cable (colour) of steering wheel to which cable of gear box.

Open the gear box, since your car is a RHD, look around the right hand side gap, there should be two cables consisting of 4 multicolored wires plugged into one another. These plugs are purple or brown; depending on year/model.
You will need to tap into the middle two wires with your steering wheel wiring. Once that's done, move the gear into Sports Mode and test out the paddles to see if they shift correctly. If they don't just reverse the two wires.

What do you mean with "RHD"?

Hi!
Nice steering wheel.
Is that a standard M5 steering wheel?
I only know wheels which are completely black.
Is the silver colour something special you have done at your own?

Or could I buy this part at my BMW dealer (which part number)?

Does the "decorative clips with screw" also work with the M5 steering wheel?

Part-Number: 32 34 6 771 254
