I want to change my air filter intake system with the afe stage 2 or K&N filter kit. Also increase my response on the throttle with the sprint booster. Which intake system would be best to use with the best results and the least chance for adverse affects on my 06 V6 E60?

this. but it wont add any power.

also, there really is no intake that adds any power. the stock setup is pretty decent.
and you probably have a I6 or straight six engine, not a v6.

For the sprint booster save the ridiculous cost and simply press the accelerator harder and faster. It's really easy...

Don't get the AFE... for your car (I'm assuming you have the 530i) I would get this instead:

For an 06 in-line 6 E60, get the BMS PowerBox. It increases throttle response AND adds power. The Sprint Booster essentially just presses the gas "harder" for you.

Removing the intake grate is another cheap/easy mod despite the skepticism in the following thread:

https://5series.net/forums/topic/987...grate-removed/

The Dinan TB will increase the area of the TB opening by 8%. The intake grate removal will increase the intake area opening by much more than that..

Listen to what they are saying about changing to an AFE. I didnt do my homework and wasted my money on the AFE. Like most say it should be called the Hot Air Intake. I installed it and the only thing I got was a better sound coming from under the hood. Definitely a loss of power and car starting hesitating froma stop. Noticeable loss of HP. I ended up with the K&N. Not sure it made a positive difference but it certainly didnt lose anything.

Get the RPi scoop. Proven power. Afe loses power brah.
