Those lighted doorsills are hot in blue or red/orange.

For those of you purchasing a new E60 and want them, get them in the initial deal, that way the dealer covers the installation and i was told, will be covered under the new car warranty.

thx for the pics Iceman, but i think the red ones stand out more. Can you adjust the brightness of the light?

I don't think that there is any adjustment of the brightness. It comes on only at night or low light area.

I understand that you can get white/blue ones only as a retrofit from the accessories catalogue (in Europe at least).

For 5 series, if I am not mistaken, you can get the red/orange ones only thru BMW Individual.

But Individual parts are only available to somebody with a Individual VIN number, so no individual means no individual parts

Red/Orange is ONLY available on the 6series or with Individual (it says: "Individual", not "BMW") and you can't adjust the brightness.
It IS noticeable, even in daylight.
