I like K&N due to the fact it's thicker. LOL. I live in NYC. The engine and A/C in the car is a mini vacuum cleaner.

BMC filters
* run around $100
* dyno better than others
* it's my understanding that oil based filters are fine
RPi carries ONLY BMC simply because they are the best

Can you expand on that they dyno better than others? What kind of dyno differences have you guys found between BMC and K&N?

There shouldn't be any issues running oil based filters. Most people who have problems apply too much oil to the filter thus coating their MAF sensor with oil. I've run oil-based filters on all my NA and forced induction cars with no problems. If there was indeed an issue, a multi-million dollar company like K&N wouldn't be in business anymore. Just my 2 cents.

+1000 - Because it would be silly to justify a $50 price difference for all of 1-2HP, and the difference between BMC and K&N cannot be more than that - any filter gets you "claimed" 5-8HP actually more like 3-4, so exactly how much more performance do we get for the extra $50?
