Anybody know the proper way to re-install the wood panel piece just above the ash tray (not the ash tray cover, but rather the piece with the buttons for seat heating/pdc/dtc, etc)? Do I need to pull the audio/climate control panel out, fix it to that, then install all of them in at the same time? Anybody have photo instructions on how to do this? I am stumped because I can't seem to just put the panel in on its own. Thanks.

remove wood trim on right of dashboard (pry off GENTLY from the pass. side), disconnect hazard/unlock switch, unscrew the climate control panel section, GENTLY pry off climate control/radio panel with a proper tool (wide putty knife or plastic spreader, NOT a screwdriver.) the wood piece attaches (or was supposed to attach) to that piece. there are two metal clips at the bottom of the wood piece, make sure the metal clips came out with the wood panel, otherwise remove them from the console area and reattach them to the wood piece before you push everything back into place.

Thanks 545felix. You are great at explaining things. Now I have a good idea now of the steps involved so I am going to attempt this tonight. Also, I can see where the wood piece attaches to the climate control/radio panel as you mention above.

I wonder how you pulled that off. It was attached to the panel from the factory.

545felix provided great info; thanks so much.
