hello,

i have a 2004 e60 525i with a logic 7 sound system. I have a kenwood amp from a previous sound system that I am wanting to install in my 525. what I am wanting to do is keep the small amplifier that's in there now and also add the kenwood one as well. can anyone help me with a DIY or any kind of things that I need? ex: RCA adapter, etc.? Thanks a lot.

You should just trade it in for a Ford Fiesta and save yourself the hassle

Why do you want to use your kenwood amp?

because the logic 7 has one small amp that powers all the door speakers and the subs. i want to hook the kenwood one up to just the subs and have the one thats in there now just to the door speakers etc.

So you want to add the Kenwood to run a seperate sub? Whatever the case, attached is a document I compiled when installing mine. Good Luck.

you can also buy a harness that's plug and play that gives you the inputs and turn on lead for your kenwood without having to splice the car's wiring.

plug and play harness

my audio install has been the biggest headache of my life in this car. the mb quarts i replaced the oems with burnt up the voicecoils in 2 weeks. i dunno why they sounded great in the beginning my amp is 75x4rms the speakers were 40-90rated the mtx axe replacements i ordered from sonic were faulty and i didnt realize this till after i hacked off the "ears" so they would fit the stock locations. so those couldnt be returned.which left me with 2 componenet sets that dont work.!! so now i basically have a pair of 10s in the back with no highs. i have the underseats subs ran to a alpine pdx-5 the underseat subs are wired in mono at 300 watts for the pair. they are earthquakes under there. they cant really be heard with the 10s in there but i have the low pass filter set high up to 130hz. i dunno if they even play that but i know my 10s are cut at 80hz and i didnt want a huge gap from 80hz to 200hz missing. unforuntaly 4 inch speakers suck for any midbass. these cars shoulda came with 6.5s my subs are powered by 2 alpine m6's
