Haha. Not after any right yet, but I hear nothing but great great things about the GS-D3, I was just wondering how they fare next to the Contis or the PS2.
Well........how are they?

I have tried the Bordgestone So3s, PS2s (very good tire), Pirelli Rozzos assimentricos (ok tire, very smooth bnut not enough grip) and now the latest toyos. For the money these toyos run very smooth, corner exceptional well and are great in rain. These are very similar to the GSD3s... my 2 cents.
and, the ride on Non RFT asre light night and day..my 19's feel softer and smoother compare to the stock 18's rfts...

I have changed from 18 inch Goodyear NTC5 Run Flats to Continental CS2 non run flats on my 535d for the same reason; noisy and hard drive. Well, the difference is amazing, it is a different car! If you can afford the change, then just do it! You will not want to go back to Run Flat tyres ever (or at least until they make significant progress with the technology)
I notice that Bridgestone RE050s are available as "RE050 A" and "RE050 EZ" but the Bridgestone web site is useless and has no information at all regarding the difference.
In the December 2005 issue of BMW Car magazine they reviewed the new 520dSE, and claimed it had the best ride of any 5 series, thanks to "the latest generation run-flat tyres" on 17 inch rims (style 138 7.5Jx17 is standard, but the magazine pictures show style 122 8Jx17). Anyone know what these tyres are, and whether they are an improvement over the RFs that many of us are suffering with on our cars today? I am tempted to replace mine with non-RFs, but would be happier to replace them with improved RFs - safety without such a compromised ride.

I did get a Bridgestone 225/50 RE050A RFT on 17" wheels and was happy with noise, ride and comfort until a month ago I switched to winter Dunlop M3 DSST. I don't exactly know how BMW makes a choice which tyres to install on different wheel sizes, but I am happy that I didn't get Dunlop 01's.
For the past couple of years I always had a Goodyear F1 (GSD-2 and GSD-3) tyres which are IMHO the best choice by far.

My Ride: Collected Sept 2009 - BMW E90 M3, Silverstone II, Novillo Black leather, 19" M Double-Spoke alloys, High Beam Assist, Electronic Damper Control, Voice Control, PDC, USB, DAB, High Gloss Shadowline, Sliding armrest, Trim Finishing in aluminium grey.
Decembers Car and Driver tested 11 tyres and their #1 was the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
Don't think they quantified tyre noise or comfort though.
