There's no difference since LCM, wiring, etc are all the same now. This will be a cheaper and BRIGHTEST solution. LED AEs cannot compare since HIDs push out the maximum lumens. U can drive with just angel eyes on at night.
Tap power from battery terminal. Will have more results to be posted. Trust me. U will want to drive DAILY with the angel eyes on.

I had HID AEs about a year ago and i know how it looks. I think i've been obsessed with AEs ever since the E46 era. I agree that it is the brightest and cheapest but you can't compare that to Orion V2s. LED AEs are sharp looking from afar unlike HID AEs that its light output is so bright that from afar you can't really see the halos like a blob of light. While LED AEs are like the LEDs from the Audis where you can tell from afar it's coming but having them in halos. Also, 6000k is just the perfect match for stock projector lights. There's no need to go higher unless you want a purple look ~ 10000k.
I also drive at night with just my LED AEs on. They're bright enough for me. Anyway, hope this clears things up on the difference between the two. IMO, HID AEs is the best bang for the buck but if you want perfection and are willing to pay the price then Orion V2s are the finest. Cheers!

8k is what I have on my car. I have 6k lowbeams. If you do all the same color it will look washed out and like a giant glob of light instead of rings. Just my .02 since I currently have a setup pretty similar to johns.

My Ride: A Car

Encountered a small problem. I ran the engine for 30 min with both sides on. Started to strobe. Next up is to use 2 sets of cables which should solve the problem. Bad news is cost may be a little more but not crazy. I want to make sure it works 100% and retains the factory features. One cable with one hid works perfect. Just a little more wiring. Hehe.
