i started with the piece above the headlight switch. it came off with little problem. however, i couldnt figure out how to separate the duct from the actual trim. i took it inside and studied it for 10 minutes and decided the best way was sort of pivoting the duct from right to left, but I couldnt get it apart. I was scared the little clips would break.

I searched the forum, but didnt find a good explanation of how to get it apart.

does anyone have pics or advice?

thanks!

The clips are not the kind that will release with just force. You have to gently bend the "catch " off the "stop", you might have to do both on one side and then hold it still while you release the other side. When you get to your door panels you will need to disconnect you battery before removing the door, and be very careful when you loosen the bolts from behind the trim ( you might have to hold the bolt still while you unscrew the nut because it the bolt turns it can break the clip on the other side.)

Honestly though this job might be a good one for you to take to a specialist if you get to a point you are uncomfortable. Maybe there is a DIY thread here somewhere. Hope this helps-
